Ages 3yrs to 6yrs
The Tiny Tot Theatre classes offer a fun introduction to drama for young children. Through engaging activities like action songs, drama games, and dress-up, children explore their creativity while developing confidence and teamwork skills. This class features exciting role play with puppets and parachute games, making learning fun and interactive. Additionally, students participate in exams focused on speech and drama, allowing them to showcase their progress and growth in theatrical skills.
The Junior Theatre Workshop.
Ages 7yrs to 10yrs
The Junior Theatre Workshop builds upon the foundations of drama and performance, incorporating elements from the Tiny Tot Theatre classes. Students engage in improvisation while exploring stagecraft and essential technical skills vital for performing. This hands-on experience not only enhances their theatrical abilities but also boosts confidence and significantly improves communication skills. Throughout these classes, participants work towards producing plays, participate in class recitals, and prepare for exams in acting, speech, and drama, fostering self-expression and creativity.
The Young Senior Theatre workshop.
Ages 11yrs -13yrs
The Young Senior Theatre program focuses on deepening students' understanding of character through the study of monologues, culminating in a monologue competition. Participants engage in devising plays through improvisation and have the opportunity to enter a one-act play festival, showcasing their creative talents. The curriculum emphasises script analysis, enhancing students' ability to interpret and perform texts effectively. Additionally, students prepare for exams in acting, Shakespeare, and public speaking, equipping them with vital skills for the stage and beyond while boosting their confidence and expressive abilities.
The Senior Theatre Workshop
Ages 14yrs - 18yrs
The Senior Theatre Workshop provides an immersive experience with a focus on advanced performance techniques. Students participate in a one-act play festival and explore both contemporary and Shakespearean monologues. They engage in devising plays and participate in improvisation exercises, both in groups and solo, to enhance their creativity and confidence. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for senior grades in acting, Shakespeare, and public speaking, including sight reading. Additionally, interview skills are incorporated into the program, equipping seniors with essential communication and presentation abilities for future endeavours.
The Acting for Screen class
Ages 7yrs +
The Acting for Screen class offers a comprehensive exploration of performance techniques tailored for the camera. Students learn the importance of framing, landing on spots, and understanding camera angles to enhance their on-screen presence. They work on delivering impactful monologues and gain valuable experience through in-house screen exams, which are assessed by film industry professionals. This hands-on approach not only hones their acting skills but also prepares them for real-world auditioning and performance opportunities in the film and television industry.
